How does it work?

My Reseller Genie is a web app that can be accessed on any internet-enabled device (we recommend using a device with a larger screen such as a computer or iPad because the software will be easier to use, but smartphones work as well). Sign up here.

Is it hard to get started?

My Reseller Genie has an awesome, interactive setup feature that will guide you through getting all your data into the software from start to finish! If you’d like a sneak peak of what setup will look like, check out this walkthrough video on our YouTube channel.

Do you offer a free trial?

While we do not offer a free trial, we do have a 14 day money back guarantee. We kindly ask that you spend some time reading the resources we email you after signup and watch the YouTube tutorials. As with starting anything new, there is a learning curve. Our customer support email is very responsive as well, should you have any questions.

Do you support both cash inventory and accrual inventory methods?

Yes we do!

How do I know which inventory method is best for me?

Every reseller business has its differences, so when asked this question, we always recommend you speak with your accountant or CPA. Don’t have an accountant or CPA? Send us an email and we can share a recommendation with you.

What integrations do you have?

My Reseller Genie currently has Poshmark and eBay integration included in the Ultimate plan. We also have bank, Paypal, and credit card integration included in the Premium and Ultimate plans! Visit our integrations page and platform compatibility page to read more.

How many selling platforms do you support?

My Reseller Genie supports the use of any and all reselling platforms. There are no limits to how many platforms you can add! Do you sell at an antique booth or have another unique sales platform? Don’t worry - you can add any selling platform into My Reseller Genie. Check out our platform compatibility page to read more!

Can I import my initial inventory/sales from List Perfectly, Vendoo, or another cross-posting service instead of importing from my selling platforms?

Yes! If you use a cross-posting service and have the majority of your inventory and sales in there, simply download a CSV file of your inventory and sales from the cross-posting service. Then, you will use our Import Feature for “All other Platforms” and copy and paste the corresponding columns from your spreadsheet into our template, and then upload into My Reseller Genie for an easy start!

Can I use My Reseller Genie for last year’s taxes?

Yes! You can use My Reseller Genie for last year’s reseller taxes as well as all future years moving forward. Additionally, the more data you have in Genie, the better your analytics will be (high-level sales analytics come with our Premium and Ultimate subscriptions).

Is My Reseller Genie a subscription?

Yes. Choose from one of our three affordable monthly subscription plans. If you need help at any point along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our 5 star rated customer support and we will respond within 24 hours! If for some reason My Reseller Genie isn’t a good fit, you can cancel anytime. If you cancel within the first 14 days of subscribing, email us and we will refund your money.

Does My Reseller Genie have everything I need to be tax-time ready?

Our Premium and Ultimate subscriptions track everything that you need for tax time; our Basic subscription tracks most of what you need (all inventory and sales data including expenses attached to sales like shipping and transaction fees). All subscriptions also have profit and loss statements you can download and give to your accountant at tax time. Our customers LOVE using My Reseller Genie to get ready for tax-time, and we hear reports all the time that their accountant/CPA loves us too!

How do I know which plan is best for me?

For resellers who are looking to grow their business, we recommend our Premium or Ultimate plans because they give you sales analytics to easily identify where you make the most profit. Additionally, with Premium and Ultimate you can record all of your other business expenses (not just inventory and sales), which is important for tax time. If you resell more as a hobby, are not a serious seller, or are comfortable with recording your own business expenses, our Basic plan is a great fit for you. The Ultimate plan has the most automation/integrations and is best for sellers who prefer having less manual entry of inventory and sales items.

What kind of support do you offer if I run into a problem?

Does My Reseller Genie work for resellers outside the United States?

At this time, My Reseller Genie only works for U.S. based resellers.

How do I know my information will be safe?

Your data security and privacy are very important to us. In MRG, data at rest is stored securely in a Google Cloud Firestore database that has passed the following security evaluations (ISO 27001, ISO 27017, ISO27018, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 -- Privacy and Security in Firebase (google.com)), HTTP requests from MRG are encrypted using Heroku SSL (Heroku SSL | Heroku Dev Center), and the integrations with banks and PayPal are handled by our partner Plaid who uses encryption protocols like Advanced Encryption Standard (AES 256) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) (Trust and Safety | Plaid). We recommend using a strong password when you create your account, as you would want to when signing up for any other service. We do not store your credit card information; this information is securely stored by Stripe – a leading credit card processing company worldwide.
